Message from Dr. Belinda S. Miles: WCCHereforYou – April 3, 2020
April 3, 2020
Colleagues,
Thanks to all who participated in this morning’s Town Hall and for the thoughtful questions and comments. As we continue to work and teach remotely, I appreciate opportunities to engage with you, especially as we navigate new and unfamiliar waters. For those who could not join the Town Hall, you can view the session here. Just a reminder that if your question wasn’t covered this morning or if something new has come to mind, please email your question or comment to Janice.adams@sunywcc.edu.
What each of us can do right now is to continue to fulfill our mission of access to opportunity and to keep our current students engaged and on track toward their academic goals. We can become familiar with and connect our students to the many resources that are available to them. We can encourage students to participate in the online events that Student Involvement and others have created. We can participate in supporting the Student Emergency Fund. We can reach out to students to encourage them to stay on this journey. And we can use the hashtag #WCCHereforYou on our social platforms as a show of support for our students and the college – and to let others know that Westchester Community College is here to assist new and continuing students, displaced workers, workforce partners and neighbors, and others to rebuild, renew, and reinvigorate – we are #VikingStrong.
Be safe and be well.
Dr. Belinda S. Miles
