With a few clicks of a mouse, students have access to their campus connections and academic information all in one place. Viking Success makes outreach easy and allows faculty and staff to work as a team to ensure students are given the necessary tools to succeed.

In Viking Success Communication is the driving force allowing for Viking Success to ensure student support is effective and therefore it cannot be efficient without teamwork. faculty and staff can work together to stay up-to-date with student responsibilities, referrals, tasks, and progress. Students are just as much a part of the team to identify areas in which they are in need of assistance and to reach out for help when required. Even when students are thriving, Viking Success can be used to congratulate and send praise through Kudos to help keep students motivated for future success.

Viking Success Features
Discover support services
All of the campus departments are on your Viking Success homepage for your convenience. Simply click on the office name for more information about the office, such as contact information, website information, location, and names of individuals who work in the office. For example, you’ll find all your Viking Success support network front and center when logging in!
Communicate with faculty and staff
Reach out to your professors, academic counselors, offices on campus, and office staff with any questions or concerns you may have about your academic success using the email function with “Your Connections” and home page on Viking Success. Easily send e-mails and make appointments right in Viking Success.
Viking Success makes it easy to view all of your course assignments due on Blackboard by connecting to your blackboard to see what has been posted and its deadline. Also, any of your upcoming assignments and appointments are visible in the same calendar so you don’t need to worry about going into more than one spot to find them.
Student Involvement is also listed on your homepage. If you know how you want to become involved, reach out! Or, use their Viking Success profile to be redirected to their website for more information.

Want to keep others updated with progress regarding a student’s academic success? There’s a spot for that in Notes! This way everyone is the loop. Speaking of loop, raising and clearing flags for student concerns is another great way for quick and easy communication regarding student advocacy.
Communicate with students
Keeping in contact with students is easy on Viking Success. Whether you’re sending a message to the student directly using the Message function, or you are raising a flag, sending a to-do, or awarding a kudos, an email alert is sent to the student in addition to a notification sent in Viking Success. And, you can even make notes and messages private for just you and the student if the matter contains sensitive information.
Monitor student progress
The best part of Viking Success is how it works with other programs that the college uses. Not only can you monitor student progress, but you can also track any flags, to-dos, or kudos posted by faculty to aid in the student’s academic success.
Refer students to support services
If you have any concerns regarding your student and want to be sure they are on the right track, you can refer the student to academic support or you can create a to-do for services like going to the Tutorial.
View student information
Already in Viking Success for other matters and want to look up a student’s contact information or see if someone else on campus is assisting them with an academic matter? You can easily search for the student, click on their name, and have a variety of information at your fingertips without leaving Viking Success. It’s that simple.
Progress surveys are a way for faculty to provide students, as well as members of their success network, an overview of their academic performance during key points throughout the semester. Each progress survey targets a specific academic issue and gives faculty the ability to quickly raise a concern so that students can work to address the issue, or be referred to the appropriate counselor, navigator, or service for intervention.
