Strategic Marketing and Communications
We are a team of strategic thinkers and creative practitioners who develop branding, marketing, and communications tools to impart strategic messages that enhance and promote the reputation of SUNY Westchester Community College. We strengthen the college’s connection to valuable audiences through storytelling that shares the best of SUNY WCC and promotes engagement around the college’s mission, vision, and values. The Creative Communications Office and Web Office are divisions of the Strategic Marketing and Communications Department, which ultimately reports to The President’s Office.
Our tool kit includes marketing consultations, creative services (including photography, video, social media, electronic signage, print design, and email), web management (including webpage design and updates), advertising media plans, and media relations. The SUNY Westchester Community College Style Guide provides standards for design and writing to be used when marketing the college’s programs and services. This guide helps the college’s various offices and units promote themselves, and the college, using a consistent graphic and verbal identity in line with the college’s mission.
You can access important assets like the logo and templates for both printed and digital materials through the Downloads and Resources section of the Style Guide.
The Creative Communications Office coordinates business card orders for SUNY WCC employees. To request business cards, employees must fill out the online business card order form with their information, as it should appear on the card. The Creative Communications Office manages Chester, the chatbot available on the college website. The chatbot scans portions of the website and has a database of answers to questions that are asked. It’s important to keep your website content up-to-date to ensure the answers provided are accurate.
We review the dialogue of the chatbot daily to help improve its function. If you come across an error in the chatbot’s responses, please submit an error report to our team.
Event Kit Check-out
We lend out branded materials for use at official college events or official booths. The materials in the event kit are a photo back-drop, podium banner, and tablecloths. To request the full event kit or specific materials, submit a general request that includes information about when you will need the event kit.
We handle media contacts in a prompt, professional manner. Call Mark Stollar at 914-606-6638 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to connect with the college about local sources for a story, press releases, or any other media-related inquiry.
Publications we’ve created can be viewed online on the Publications page. These publications can be shared to support your communication and recruiting needs. If you need printed copies to distribute, reach out to us.
