Message from Dr. Belinda S. Miles: Resilience – February 28, 2020
February 28, 2020
Colleagues,
Our Health & Wellness Services personnel are diligently monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website and correspondence and is in contact with the Westchester County Health Department regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus). Please be sure to check your email from earlier today for information from Health & Wellness Services on this virus. We are taking all necessary steps to prepare for any outbreak in our area and we are focused on the safety of our college community. We all need to remain vigilant about keeping ourselves healthy and safe. The guidelines provided within the message will be helpful in this regard.
As we wrap up Black History Month, kudos to this year’s committee, chaired by Garrett McAlister and Serena Chamblee, for providing interesting and educational co- and extra-curricular activities to our students and the college community. On Monday we begin our celebration of Women’s History Month focusing on Valiant Women of the Vote. I’m sure that this year’s committee, chaired by Ekta Bhatia and Mary Lou Sgro, have planned interesting events and learning opportunities.
These recognitions inform and remind us of the importance of being intentional, persistent, and resilient in our ongoing quest for safety, justice, and equity. Have a safe and restful weekend.
Dr. Belinda S. Miles
President
