Message from Dr. Belinda S. Miles: Engaged and Connected – April 10, 2020
April 10, 2020
Colleagues,
Our mission driven work continues, and the range of remote services and events that have been developed for students and the college community are impressive. Please be sure to share information with students – especially as new events and resources are announced – so that they can take advantage of vital services for academic support, mental wellness, academic advising, extra-curricular engagement, and fun activities! Please watch your email and the college website for information. Another way for you and our students to stay connected is to follow WCC on our social media platforms:
Facebook: @sunywcc
Instagram: @sunywcc1
Twitter: @sunywcc1
Linked In: Westchester Community College
YouTube: wccvideos1
Or visit http://www.sunywcc.edu/social for easy links.
The content that we post, share, retweet and more will not only keep us engaged and connected, but can also attract new students to the college.
We’re working with Creative Communications on ways to curate brief (30-45 seconds) videos from our college community to share the many ways our work is making a positive impact on new and continuing students during this unprecedented time. We’re hoping to share your unique interactions with students, proudly displaying to the community that we are #VikingStrong. Watch for additional information on our #WCCHereForYou videos and think about the brief message or greeting you would like to share with colleagues.
Kudos to our student leaders and student body for such an outstanding showing for this year’s Student Government elections and special congratulations to our newly elected Student Government Officers:
Gianna Jimenez – President
Rion Montgomery – Vice President
Joseph Ciamarra – Treasurer
Mikali-Elon Wallace – Director of Public Relations
Estefany Palencia – Student Trustee
I am so excited that you made this commitment to lead and serve your peers at Westchester Community College. My team and I look forward to working with each of you in the coming year.
Finally, for our colleagues who celebrated Passover this week, and those who will celebrate Easter this weekend or Ramadan later this month, I wish you and your loved ones joyous celebrations during this challenging time and always.
Stay connected and stay safe!
Dr. Belinda S. Miles
President
