Message from Dr. Belinda S. Miles – August 17, 2017
Colleagues,
Following the devastating recent events in Charlottesville, the attached letter was issued on behalf of Chairman McCall, Chancellor Zimpher and Chief Diversity Officer Medina. I share this with you and join SUNY in standing united against racism, violence, and intimidation.
As an institution of higher learning, it is our responsibility to help students understand the complexities of our society and ensure that they have a safe environment to speak freely and express a wide range of views. As we prepare to welcome our diverse student body to campus, I reiterate that there is absolutely no place for intolerant speech or actions at Westchester Community College. As part of our commitment to respectful disagreement, we maintain a zero-tolerance stance against actions that threaten the safety of our students, employees, and visitors.
Dr. Belinda S. Miles
President
