Colleagues,
Working together, we are co-creators of the experiences we wish to provide for our students. Our Faculty are reexamining developmental education by using Accelerated Learning models, partaking in the Multiple Measures study, and offering online learning platforms as additional support in writing and mathematics. The majority of our students come to the college needing remediation in at least one subject. Community colleges nationally are reviewing ways to better prepare students and with our ASAP implementation, possible funding from Title V, and how we are currently leveraging our Perkins and other grant funding to serve students, Westchester Community College is well on its way to moving the needle on getting students through developmental courses into their Gen Ed and major courses.
