Message from Dr. Belinda S. Miles – November 20, 2015
Dear Colleagues,
The State University of New York Board of Trustees recently approved the appointment of English Professor Richard Courage as a Distinguished Teaching Professor, one of the highest honors in the SUNY system. Dr. Courage’s 25 years of teaching has garnered positive attention from his students and colleagues and numerous external organizations. He is a prolific scholar and author and has co-directed a National Endowment for the Humanities program for teachers of English. Congratulations—this is a significant achievement shared with other Westchester Community College faculty members.
We had a blockbuster turnout for our Fall Open House hosted by admissions. The final tally is 454 future students and family members! This is significantly more than previous open houses. We received many positive responses from our guests who interacted with you at your tables on the gym floor or in your workplaces during the campus tour. Thanks to everyone who was involved in making the program a huge success.
Along with this positive indicator of future new student enrollment, please help us get the word out to current students about registering for spring classes and making progress toward degree completion. The spring registration guide is available on the college website.
Thanks for making it a great week.
Warm regards,
Dr. Belinda S. Miles
President
