Winter Orientation 2027

New and Transfer Student Winter Orientation is a two-hour experience designed to successfully transition into the SUNY Westchester Community College. The session is a virtual experience and specifically designed for first-time, full-time, new, and transfer students. During the session you’ll learn about the many resources available to you, opportunities for involvement, your rights and responsibilities as a student, and strategies for success at the college.

The session is the first part of our comprehensive Winter Orientation experience. The second part will be completed through an engaging Online Orientation Module, available through the MyWCC portal.

Upcoming Session:
Tuesday, January 12, 2027, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm through ZOOM.

Online Orientation

New and Transfer Student Online Orientation is a self-guided Module accessible through your student portal in MyWCC.

Our in-person New and Transfer Student Orientation in August included a campus tour led by an Orientation Leader, along with various sessions designed to help you connect with fellow students and college professionals while learning about available services and opportunities. The Online Orientation captures the essence of that experience in just 1 to 2 hours, providing essential insights on how to succeed at SUNY Westchester and fostering a sense of belonging within our college community.

Below are the steps to log into and complete the Online Orientation Module.

  1. Go to sunywcc.edu.
  2. Login using your MYWCC user ID and password.
  3. Once you log in, click on the WCC Online Orientation tile.
  4. Proceed with completing Online Orientation. Upon completion of the module you will receive a certificate. No need to email us the certificate, we will receive your information through your login credentials. However, screenshot the certificate in case we request it at a later date.
  5. If you’re having trouble logging into your MyWCC Student Portal contact mywcchelpdesk@sunywcc.edu.
  6. If you have any questions, please contact the Student Involvement Office via getinvolved@sunywcc.edu and we will be happy to assist you.

IMPORTANT: If you have an Orientation Hold on your student account, it will be automatically removed within 24 to 48 hours after you complete the Online Orientation Module.

New and Transfer Student Orientation sessions are a full day experience starting at 9 am to 4 pm in the summer. Virtual/Online Orientations are a 2 hour and 15 minute experience.

Orientation sessions are intended for WCC students. However, we do offer live Family Orientation sessions during the week of our summer sessions and a self-guided Family Orientation during Winter Orientation. Family Orientation is a separate and unique program that does NOT meet the New and Transfer Student Orientation requirement. The presentations are geared for adults who want to learn more about the College and ways in which they can support their student. Children are discouraged from attending and or participating.

Students are encouraged to wear comfortable and appropriate clothing with comfortable closed-toed shoes.

New students will participate in a variety of fun and informative activities that are held during interactive speeches and engaging workshops.
