NAHM: Serviceberry Community Read/Participatory Workshop

David Swope Student Center, Event Room

Join Professor Theresa Frey for a creative, arts-based participatory workshop inspired by our WCC Community Read for Native American Heritage Month, ‘The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World’ by Robin Wall Kimmerer. The practices embodied by the serviceberry invite us to reimagine community through reciprocity, gratitude, and mutual care. We will explore these ideas through creative storytelling, reflection, and collaborative activities. No prior artistic experience is required. All are welcome. This Participatory Action Workshop is led by Theresa Frey, SUNY WCC Adjunct Faculty in the English Department and UNESCO Chair research member in Adult Literacies and Social Transformation.
