LAS MS Chemistry
This program emphasizes majors-level mathematics and natural sciences to parallel the first two years of study in bachelor’s degrees in these disciplines. Graduates often continue their studies in baccalaureate programs in mathematics and the natural sciences or in allied health paths whose competitive admission requirements require coursework in mathematics and/or natural science at the majors-level, such as pre-medicine, pre-pharmacy, physician’s assistant, and nursing programs.

Message from the Curriculum Chair
The Liberal Arts & Sciences/Mathematics and Science (LAMS) program leads to the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree for those interested in transferring to a four–year program in Math, Science, or Allied Health. This curriculum, with an emphasis in majors-level mathematics and/or natural sciences, allows you to parallel the first two years of course content for the degree of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science. To enhance seamless transferability, prescribed course sequencing in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Health Science are available for you as formal concentrations of study, however the degree offers some flexibility coursework if you are not interested in these concentrations. Qualified graduates often continue their studies at four-year colleges and universities in baccalaureate programs in mathematics, the natural sciences and health sciences.
