SUNY Purchase College Transfer Pathway Agreement

Minimum Cumulative GPA Required: 2.0
Associate’s Degree Required: Yes

Transfer Agreement Highlights:

  • Students who graduate from an associate degree program identified in the Transfer Pathways Table below and earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher at SUNY WCC will be guaranteed admission to Purchase.
  • Students who graduate from SUNY WCC’s Business Management, A.S. with a 2.0 or higher will be guaranteed admission to the Arts and Cultural Management, BA/MA Accelerated program, as outlined in The Arts and Cultural Management, BA/MA Accelerated Program below.
  • Upon meeting the program requirements, students will transfer with junior standing at Purchase.
  • Students may opt-in at any time during their WCC coursework, but to ensure the 2+2 pathway, students must opt-in by the end of their first semester at SUNY WCC.
  • Purchase will also admit up to 25 ASAP (known as Viking Road at SUNY WCC) students to the Purchase College ACE Program each year.
  • Purchase will facilitate course registration at the start of the registration period for the semester in which the student is expected to enroll.

Transfer Credit Evaluation

  • Purchase will conduct a transfer credit evaluation during the student’s final semester at SUNY WCC to support transfer planning and registration at Purchase.
  • A follow up transfer credit evaluation will be completed within a month of the student’s graduation from SUNY WCC to account for final course grades and credits applied.
  • A minimum of 60 and a maximum of 75 credits from an Associate degree (A.A. or A.S.) will be applied toward the completion of the articulated bachelor’s degree program.
  • General Education: Upon completion of the A.A. or A.S. degree at SUNY WCC, students will be considered to have fulfilled Purchase College’s General Education requirements, with a minimum of 30 credits applied toward their course of study at Purchase.

Transfer Scholarship

  • Purchase offers New York State tuition and a $3,000 scholarship award for students who are New York State residents, complete the associate’s degree with a GPA of 3.0, and maintains full-time status at Purchase. This award is available for four semesters for a total of $6,000.
  • Purchase offers $1,000 for those with a GPA between 2.5 and 2.9. This award is available for four semesters for a total of $2,000 and students must full-time status at Purchase.

The programs included reflect SUNY’s system-wide Transfer Pathways, which identify core coursework within a major that will transfer seamlessly across SUNY institutions. Participating students will follow the appropriate SUNY Transfer Pathway for their intended major at Purchase.

The Arts and Cultural Management BA/MA Accelerated Program

  • The Arts and Cultural Management, BA/MA Accelerated Program provides the opportunity for eligible students to begin graduate coursework while completing their bachelor’s degree.
  • Under SUNY guidelines, up to 12 credits may be applied to both degrees at the undergraduate tuition rate.
  • Upon enrolling in a 13th graduate credit or becoming eligible for the bachelor’s degree (whichever occurs first), students are classified as graduate students and are subject to graduate tuition, financial aid, and enrollment policies.
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA is required to remain in the program.
