Our school is home to programs that prepare students for leadership, innovation, and success in a range of dynamic industries. Accounting and Finance A.S.

The Accounting and Finance A.S. program provides seamless transfer opportunities to local colleges after which graduates find jobs in accounting firms, corporations, banks and small businesses. Many become Certified Public Accountants. Students receive the training needed to succeed in bachelor’s degree programs and in the meantime to work in entry-level positions and internships. Courses in accounting and business are combined with practical studies in federal income taxation, computerized accounting and more.

Addiction Counseling A.A.S.

The AAS in CDC provides all 350 Alcohol & Drug education hours required for CASAC eligibility and reduces the experience requirement by 1000 hours. Westchester Community College is a certified education & training provider of the NYS Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). OASAS issues the CASAC (Credentialed Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counselor).

These programs prepare students for careers in office systems administration, which would include positions such as administrative assistant, office manager, sales assistant, customer service representative and executive assistant. Graduates are employed in a wide variety of fields and types of organizations—international corporations, law firms, hospitals, schools, government offices and small companies.

These programs prepare students for careers in office systems administration, which would include positions such as administrative assistant, office manager, sales assistant, customer service representative and executive assistant. Computer Information Systems A.A.S.

This program provides a firm foundation in technology and its use in business areas. Computer Information Systems is the bridge between business problems and technological solutions. Topics of study include databases, networks, systems analysis, and security. Students will be prepared to enter the workforce after graduation or transfer to Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology programs at a four-year college.

Criminal Justice A.A.S.

The need for a college education in the field of criminal justice has grown dramatically. Agencies engaged in law enforcement, the judicial process, corrections, probation, and parole have recognized the value of a college education for their employees. Individuals completing these programs are prepared to enter many law enforcement agencies at the federal, state, and local levels, as well as private sector insurance and security technology companies.

Fashion Design & Technology A.A.S.

The Fashion Design & Technology program enables students to understand how apparel is produced for various markets considering creative, technical, and cost factors. Graduates are prepared for work as junior patternmakers; design assistants; technical design, and more. You will develop skills in textiles, draping and flat pattern making, garment construction, apparel design, and other skills used in the design fields from apparel manufacturing to home products.

Fashion Merchandising A.A.S.

Love style, have an interest in merchandising, or a desire to work in textiles and fashion marketing? The dynamic, creative, and challenging world of fashion has a variety of career opportunities. The Fashion Merchandising program combines fashion studies with business courses to prepare students for positions in resident buying offices, fashion manufacturers, designer showrooms, retail stores, fashion publications, and other firms associated with the fashion industry.

Human Services A.S.

Human Services focuses on meeting the needs of individuals, families, and groups through an interdisciplinary knowledge base, focusing on prevention as well as remediation of social issues, while maintaining a commitment to human rights and social justice. Completing the A.A.S. will prepare students to enter social work or related fields. The A.S. program prepares students to transfer to a four-year program of study. The Community Health and Case Management Certificate is especially useful for those employed in the human services who wish to upgrade their skills and marketability.

The A.A.S. in Interactive Technologies (ITECH) Computer Animation and Game Design Track is designed for digital media students to complement their 2D/3D designs, illustration, animation, digital media and/or computer programming studies. Students choose one concentration out of three: Digital Marketing, Web Design/Development (UX/UI), and Computer Animation and Game Design. Specialized courses in consumer behavior, advertising, professional selling and digital marketing are taught by outstanding marketing faculty, bringing real world expertise using state-of-the-art business software. The curriculum offers Marketing students opportunities to build professional networks and make lasting valuable friendships with leaders in marketing to increase job and transfer placement.

The Paralegal Program provides graduates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform competently as paralegals in law-related occupations under the supervision of an attorney. Paralegals work in all phases of practice except providing legal advice to clients, appearing in court, and setting fees. Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to the public, except as permitted by law.
