NY HSI STEM Hub Recruitment

CUNY & SUNY Community College STEM Faculty & Grant Staff

This is a dynamic, welcoming year-long program designed to empower faculty and grant staff through Student-Centered Initiatives and Grantsmanship. Work collaboratively in a Networked Improvement Community (NIC) to build grant-writing capacity and drive institutional change. Participating faculty receive stipends.

Through two blended components –
professional development series designed through a student-centered lens and grantsmanship mentoring – we envision a thriving community of STEM-teaching faculty at CUNY and SUNY Community Colleges who are empowered with the skills, mentorship, and confidence to secure grants, build institutional capacity, and lead the creation of student-centered STEM learning environments.

Faculty Commitments:

  • Commit to a minimum of 90 hours of active participation throughout the year.
  • Attend all required meetings and program sessions as scheduled.
  • Complete all assigned deliverables thoroughly and on time.
  • Develop and submit an NSF proposal by the end of the year.

Funding for this project was awarded by the National Science Foundation #2311235 to the SUNY Westchester Community College, in partnership with the Center for Broadening Participation in STEM at Arizona State University
