Mediterranean Delights – Interactive! Opa! In Greece, “meraki” is described as doing something with passion, absolute devotion, and undivided attention. That feeling of when you love doing something so much that your soul is in it, such as Proprietor and Chef Michalakis Sarris. Our chef was born in Paphos, Cyprus and he will share stories of his youth growing up with his yia yia (grandmother). She taught him many of the recipes he shares with us today. We are greeted with warm pita and lemon marinated olives. Next a warming lesson on a classic Avgolemono – Greek lemon chicken soup. Help chef as you experience a tutorial on folding Phyllo sheets to encase a filling of spinach, dill and Feta, forming them into Spanakopita. Easy to replicate at home, Chef teaches us his secret to his perfect Moussaka – baked eggplant, potatoes, ground meat topped with a creamy Bechamel sauce. Our Greek dessert will be Baklava – crisp Phyllo dough with nuts and honey, accompanied by a mini icy frappe or hot Greek coffee. Always a favorite instructor and story teller. Arrive hungry, as this passionate chef shares his authentic Greek food education and delicious food. Kalí órexi!
