WHO: ASIA ALEXANDER, JOURNALIST
& PULITZER CENTER STUDENT REPORTING FELLOW
Asia Alexander is a journalist and communications specialist with a passion for storytelling, media strategy, and public relations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in political science at Howard University. Asia reports for The Boston Globe and has worked with Forbes, NASA, General Motors, United Talent Agency, and the United States Senate. Her experience includes covering economic policy, interviewing political figures, and managing communications for high-profile clients, including NFL players. As business manager for The Hilltop, Howard University’s student newspaper, she has led creative campaigns that boosted engagement and advertising sales.
WHAT: AN INFORMATIVE AND ENGAGING PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION ABOUT HER REPORTING WORK; Her Pulitzer Center-supported project, Under Pressure: The Hidden Cost of Being a Black Teacher in Mississippi, explores the growing mental health crisis among Black educators in rural Southern communities, with a focus on Mississippi.
