Advanced Manufacturing Program
Manufacturing Skill Standards Council
About
The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) is an industry-led, training, assessment and certification system focused on the core skills and knowledge needed by the nation’s front-line production and material handling workers. The nationwide MSSC System, based upon industry defined and federally-endorsed standards, offers both entry-level and existing workers the opportunity to demonstrate that they have acquired the skills increasingly needed in the technology-intensive jobs of the 21st century.
*This program is in collaboration with The Westchester County Office of Economic Development’s Workforce Training Initiative in Advanced Manufacturing. Grant Funding is available to those who qualify. See our Workforce Development Scholarships page
Certified Production Technician (CPT)
The Certified Production Technician is a nationally portable, industry-led program that prepares and certifies individuals for career pathways in advanced manufacturing. The goal of the CPT 4.0 certification program is to raise the level of performance of production technicians starting or advancing their career and to provide value to employers.
The CPT Certification addresses the core technical competencies of higher skilled production workers in all sectors of manufacturing. MSSC awards certificates to individuals who pass any of its four Production Modules: Safety, Maintenance Awareness, Manufacturing Processes & Production, and Quality Practices & Measurement; and a full Certified Production Technician 4.0 (CPT) Certificate to those who pass all four original modules.
