Earn Your High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE)

A High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE) is required to apply to SUNY WCC. If you don’t have either of those, we can help you earn your High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE)! There are two options:

1. Prepare to pass the GED exam though a test preparation program.

  • The Workforce Development department offers full GED test preparation review for the HSE exam in Mount Vernon, Peekskill and Valhalla.
  • The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center offers a free High School Equivalency (HSE) program designed to help eligible students take and pass the HSE (GED) test. Students are given instruction and academic support to improve their basic reading, writing, math, science and/or social studies skills.

2. Earn college credits while obtaining your HSE diploma.

  • Twenty-four (24) credits can be applied to a certificate or degree.
