Spring Session 2021
How will courses be taught in the Spring?
95% of WCC Spring 2021 courses will be taught virtually with fewer courses to be taught in-person, on-campus.
Regardless of the instructional modality of a course, all courses are taught following the specific learning outcomes and high academic standards that are customary for a WCC education. Please review the definitions below so you understand the instructional method being used for each of your course selections.

Learning activities include online discussion boards, readings and assignment submissions; all classwork and assessments are completed entirely online.ONLINE (OS) – Synchronous (Real-Time)
Class takes place remotely in real-time via Blackboard and Zoom. You are expected to participate in class on the scheduled days and times; your learning activities, assignments and assessments are online via Blackboard.Online (OC) – Combined (Mix of Asynchronous & Synchronous)

Your instructor will tell you in advance what days and times you will virtually meet. All your learning activities, assignments and assessments are online via Blackboard.HYBRID (HY) – Synchronous & In-Person
Combination of online synchronous and in-person instruction modes. Your course will take place remotely via Blackboard and Zoom in real-time on scheduled days and times; in addition, your instructor will meet with you on campus (in-person) on scheduled days and times.WCC offers multiple course schedule options with different start dates to maximize convenience for you. Each option provides the same amount of course material and meeting hours. Start a traditional 15-week semester on January 25. Or start a 14-week semester on January 31. Or, if you prefer to minimize the number of courses you take at the same time, consider taking just 2 courses in each of our 7.5-week sessions, for a total of 4 courses across the full semester. (Our 7.5-week sessions are a good choice if you have significant outside commitments, such as a job or childcare responsibilities.) Meet with an academic counselor and financial aid advisor to be sure this works for you!
