Message from the Curriculum Chair
Welcome to this unique Interactive Technologies (ITECH) program that offers students an opportunity to customize a digital media program that fits their individual interests. Begin by choosing one of the following ITECH tracks. You can also explore all three tracks by selecting a variety of course electives. ITECH’s curriculum offers an interdisciplinary foundation that ensures their graduates will be successful content creators.
Track 1 - Digital Marketing is designed for marketing students to complement their business studies, covering social media marketing, website design (UX/UI) and digital media. Students will gain skills in photography, digital design and web programming in order to market, design and develop New Media products or services.
Track 2 - Web Design and Development (UX/UI) is designed for students interested in developing dynamic web pages. Students will learn current web applications to develop interactive digital media skills. Students explore today’s best practices in digital design, web programming and web administration. Their hands-on experience with user experience and user interface methodologies will help attain a position as a web developer.
Track 3 - Computer Animation and Game Design offers students the opportunity to develop hands-on skills in product design, motion design, game design and 2D and 3D computer animation. Students work collaboratively developing effective narratives and concept art. They will explore character development, interactive code and time-based digital media skills to develop exciting dynamic prototypes that will help launch a creative career.
ITECH graduates are encouraged to pursue internships and career opportunities in their field of interest. Be sure to join the ITECH student club New Media Group who meet weekly on Wednesdays to organize activities such as studio tours, guest and alumni lecturers and video gaming tournaments. Hope that you can join us in learning the emerging technologies that lead to rewarding careers.
Email me your questions. I look forward to meeting you to discuss what ITECH Track and the electives will best serve your creative, transfer and/or employment objectives.
