Office of High School Partnerships
The Office of High School Partnerships plans, develops, coordinates, and administers a variety of programs and projects that link Westchester Community College with high schools in Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess Counties.
Our pre-college programs are anchored by the college’s dual enrollment program, the Early College Experience (ECE), which enables eligible students to earn college credits before graduating from high school. Each year, more than 3,000 students representing over 35 high schools from across the area enroll in college credit courses. Dual enrollment courses are offered in a multitude of different subjects including English, math, and science, as well as courses connected to specific Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways.
The P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) and SMART Scholars programs are different early college models that are offered in conjunction with the Yonkers Public Schools. In each of these dual enrollment models, the college works with each partner school to offer a sequence of college credit courses designed to help students graduate with at least 30 college credits, or an Associate’s degree, as part of their high school program.
StepUp: Transition to College is a high school to college transition program designed to help current high school seniors be better prepared to enter college without the need for remediation. The StepUp program works with partner high schools by replacing current senior year English or math courses with specially redesigned curricula that bridge the literacy and numeracy skills gap between high school and college.
