Through the generous support of our Security Department, we are pleased to offer AHA Heartsaver CPR and First Aid training to students, staff, and faculty this spring. This comprehensive six-hour course equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations, including cardiac arrest, injuries, and sudden illness. By expanding life-saving skills across our campus community, we strengthen not only the safety of our workplace, but also our ability to care for family, friends, and loved ones when it matters most. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to make a meaningful difference in an emergency.

Catalogue Number: CE-HCARE 5001 – CPR AED Training

This AHA certification Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. The AHA Heartsaver CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training. This course teaches how high quality CPR improves survival, recognizing need for CPR, performing high quality CPR for an adult, child, or infant, how to perform CPR with others, how to use an AED on an adult, and describe when and how to help a choking adult, child, or infant.

Catalogue Number: CE-HCARE 5002 – First Aid Training

The AHA Heartsaver First Aid course trains participants first aid basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills. The AHA Heartsaver First Aid Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training. This course teaches first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, and preventing illness and injury.

Location: Science Building – Room 346
Duration: 3 hours per module (note: participants must register and attend both courses)

This certification course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively in emergency situations. By learning cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to operate automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and essential first aid techniques, you will gain the confidence to act swiftly and competently when faced with a medical crisis.
