Web Department Internship Job Description

JOB TITLE: Web Services Intern
DEPARTMENT: Web Services
HIRING MANAGER: Patrick Dannenhoffer
DURATION: Semester long, 15 weeks
LOCATION: SUNY Westchester Community College (WCC), Valhalla Campus

PAY: Westchester Minimum Wage for up to 120 hours

Major Project Involvement Includes:

• Web Redesign and Redevelopment
• Program related API’s
• Policy and Procedure API and User Interface / User Experience
• Automated Tasks
• Tableau Dashboard for High Level View of Marketing and Advertising SEM
• SEO AND ADA Optimization

Ongoing Assistance and Routine Job-Related Functions:

• Meeting with other team members, including web manager and marketing director, to create new content and promote non-credit and credit-based courses, programs and certifications.
• Uploading content to WordPress content management system
• Revising content as needed.
• Familiarize oneself with the SUNY WCC style guide.
• Copy editing which includes grammar, punctuation, and spelling adjustments.
• Experience working with other team members to produce content through MS Office Teams
• Assistance and Collaboration with other members of the Strategic Marketing department to create event posts, new web pages.
• Assist in converting web forms built in WP Visual Form Builder Pro over to MS Office 365 Forms and setup Power Automation Flows for streamlining processes.
• Assisting web manager with sitemap and department content which include Administration, Foundation, Academic Affairs, Admissions, Enrollment Services, Workforce Development and Community Education, ELI, ESL, Student Support Services, Student Involvement, and extension centers.

Eligibility/Qualifications

• GPA: 2.5 or better, student in good standing
• 24 hours of earned credits at time of internship
• Approval of Curriculum Char or other Faculty in Major
• Ability to work 8 hours a week/120 hours over the semester in the internship
• Must be enrolled at SUNY WCC in an industry related degree program (e.g., CS or CIS).

Pay: Westchester County Minimum Wage for up to 120 hours.
