We would like to invite faculty and staff to attend a voluntary introductory workshop to become more familiar with Viking Success and its features. The workshop will familiarize you with the tool and the benefits that you and your students will gain from using Viking Success regularly. Below are the session descriptions and schedule.
In Viking Success faculty and staff collaborate in an integrated system with students at the center. The tool enables Academic Counselors, Navigators, faculty, and departments across campus to collaborate and communicate directly with students from within the platform. The college has been using the tool in a variety of ways:
Messages and Notes: To send students messages via email or send notes to other staff members in a student’s personal success network.
Alerts: To send and receive alerts from colleagues when students need assistance and to stay in the loop with updates to know that students got the help they needed.
Scheduling: To schedule time with students using the calendar function in Viking Success and to allow students to schedule their own time with faculty and staff during their designated office hours. The Viking Success calendar integrates fully with Microsoft Outlook.
Teaching Faculty 101:
This workshop is tailored to the needs of teaching faculty and how they would use Viking Success. Learn the basics of how teaching faculty would set up appointments, make referrals, raise flags, send kudos, enter notes, and follow up on their interactions with students.
This workshop is tailored to the needs of nonteaching faculty and staff and how they would use Viking Success. Learn the basics of how nonteaching faculty and staff would set up appointments, clear flags, make referrals, and follow up on their interactions with students.
