Re-Emergence Plan and Procedures
Westchester Community College enters its phased re-emergence upon Westchester County entering Phase 4 of the New York Forward reopening plan.
The WCC Pandemic Response Team has developed its plan for re-emergence following the guidance of state and local health and government authorities, as well as the extensive input provided by employees and students of the College through numerous town halls and surveys.

Each form must be submitted and is required before entering campus
The Health Questionnaire is required the day of and prior to coming to campus.
The Main Campus Reservation Form should be submitted up to two weeks in advance.
- Employees – contact your supervisor for a copy of this form to be submitted to your supervisor
- Students – must be invited onto campus by a faculty member, who can provide you with a reservation form to submit to that faculty member.
- Visitor – must be invited onto campus by an employee, who can provide you with a reservation form to submit to that staff member

Executive Summary as of July 21, 2020
The Pandemic Recovery Plan (PRP) affirms the college’s commitment to teaching and learning as well as to the overall health and safety of the community.
NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo delegated final approval of SUNY campus plans to SUNY System Administration. The college’s PRP received approval from the Chancellor.
Among numerous others, the following sources were consulted in creation of the PRP:

- NYS Office of the Governor

The PRP is subject to change based upon evolving guidance and recommendations from authorities and health officials.
How Sub-Levels Work
- There are three recovery sub-levels.
- The sub-levels are based upon risk to the community and are not sequential.
- Decisions on transitioning from one sub-level to another are based upon current conditions and guidance from local, state, and federal authorities and health officials.
- The decision to transition to a sub-level is made by the President of the College in consultation with the Pandemic Response Team (PRT).

Questions & Answers
Q. What is the College doing to keep the College Community safe during the pandemic?
A: The College will remain in a full remote posture until the pandemic fully abates, EXCEPT that select Faculty, Staff and Students will be permitted to enter College property to perform essential functions and/or academic instruction that requires a student use of specialized equipment, locations, and/or materials and/or are needed for degree/program completion. Students should not seek to enter College property unless specifically authorized and scheduled to do so by a Professor or Dean.
Q. When can I return to campus? What are the protocols for being on campus?
A: Currently, essential employees and students enrolled in hybrid courses are eligible for returning to campus, and must follow the WCC Re-Emergence Plan and Procedures.
Q. What safety precautions are being added to our facilities?
A: The College has implemented the following facilities related safety precautions::
- Limiting the overall number of people at or in any given location;
- New room occupancy limits for social distancing;
- New hand sanitizers installed in various high-traffic locations;
- New paper towel dispensers to augment air hand dryers;
- Available restrooms are single-occupancy;
- Single use occupancy limit for all elevators;
- Handicap entrances are motion operated;
- Hallways allow traffic to move in one direction;
- Daily and targeted deep cleaning of College facilities; and
- Upgraded maintenance levels of air ventilation filters throughout campus; and
- Social distancing, hand washing and mask wearing reminder signs posted throughout College facilities.
Q. Will I be able to park my car on campus?
A: Yes. Parking restrictions are suspended and parking stickers/passes are not being distributed.
