Virtual Chef Talk with Jeffrey K. Vaden

Chef Jeffrey K. Vaden from White Plains is a graduate of Howard University and worked for IBM and then attended the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). After graduating from the CIA, he was accepted into their fellowship program, after which he worked throughout the New York area before launching his own JK Restaurant & Bar in Peekskill, NY. This restaurant received wide recognition and excellent reviews including the NY Times. After running the business for better than six years, Jeffrey sold the restaurant and moved on.
He ended up as a contestant on the Food Network’s, “Next Food Network Star” and although he did not ultimately win the competition, he had an excellent experience and thereafter launched his own catering business, Soul Luxe Caterers, and also began consulting on food matters to daycare centers, as well as individual clients. He also teaches Westchester County ServSafe classes at the Westchester County Department of Corrections.
Jeffrey realizes that food is fuel and he is constantly working on new ways to train our taste buds away from over-processed, salty, sugary meals, towards the natural flavors produced by Mother Nature and a healthy lifestyle.
