The Cunning Wrinkle of Newness Exhibition Opening
19th-century Origins, Implications, and Adoptions of the Trouser Crease
Date: Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
Location: SUNY Westchester Valhalla, Harold L. Drimmer Library, 1st Floor and Lounge
Presented by Professor Brian Centrone and the Harold L. Drimmer Library, The Cunning Wrinkle of Newness is the first in-depth exploration of the trouser crease’s origins, implications, and adoptions of the late nineteenth century. Through key images accompanied by an audio guide, this exhibition located along Library rooms 116-121 reveals the trouser crease’s social, economic, and political significance in both America and Great Britain at the turn of the century.
Join us in the library for an opening reception on Wednesday, January 25, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Professor Centrone will also present his research on Monday, January 30, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at SUNY Westchester Yonkers.
The exhibit will remain on view until March 30, 2023 at the Harold L. Drimmer Library at SUNY Westchester Valhalla.
