Event Calendar
STEM Scholars: Oak Tree Research Study
Date: Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 11 a.m to 12 p.m. noon
Location: Science Building, Room 370. Register to attend.
Join us to research the mighty oak trees on campus. Oaks are known as keystone species, which provide food and shelter for hundreds of different organisms. Birds, caterpillars, butterflies, moths, squirrels, chipmunks, dozens of insects, fungi and many more organisms rely on oaks for their survival. If oaks disappeared from the ecosystem, the fate of many species would be bleak.
Come and meet other students, faculty, and community volunteers to monitor the health of our oak trees using the mobile app, iNaturalist. Let’s all support and protect the oak trees on campus!
