Poets and Writers is pleased to present this Zoom event. The event is free and all are welcome.
Join the editor of Dress You Up, Brian Centrone, and a selection of writers whose short stories are included in this Capsule Collection of Fashionable Fiction for a lively reading and Q & A.
Dress You Up is a collection of twelve stories that speak to the multiple ways in which fashion is more than just the clothing we wear. The writers will read their stories and a discussion will follow about how their texts help us understand the ways fashion can shape who we are as well as who we want to be. This fully illustrated anthology highlights how the clothing and accessories we wear or covet often reflect past memories, present challenges, or future hopes and dreams. The stories focus on themes like trauma and healing, perception and identity, love and loss, hopes and dreams.
Brian Centrone is a writer, editor, teacher, and fashion historian. Featured writers include Susan Carey, Cheney Luttich, Gabreilla Brand, P. J. Schaefer (aka Patti Sehulster), Larissa Hikel, who will be reading from their work and responding to any questions from the Zoom audience.
