Adjunct Counselor/Health Curriculum Advisor
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Natural and Health Sciences
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Division of Natural and Health Sciences is seeking a part-time Health Curriculum Advisor to assist the Liberal Arts Science/Math and Science (LAMS) Curriculum Chair in advising students who have an interest in the Nursing, Radiologic Technologies, Respiratory Care, or Veterinary Technologies A.A.S degrees and the Continuing Education Division’s allied health program administrator in advising students who have an interest in non-credit and certificate programs in allied health. The main responsibility of the Health Curriculum Advisor is to guide these students through the prerequisites and admission requirements of these degree and non-credit programs. Additionally the advisor is expected to work with the Curriculum Chairs of the A.A.S programs and the respective supervisors of non-credit and certificate programs to stay updated on curricula changes, as well as maintain contact with representatives from the Department of Counseling and Student Development for new student counseling. The Health Curriculum Advisor is expected to work approximately 17 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters. Actual days and times are flexible with prior supervisory approval.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and three years of experience in the fields of admissions or guidance counseling is required. Applicants with demonstrated working knowledge of or experience in allied health fields will be given preference. The successful candidate must possess an understanding of the community college setting.
SALARY & BENEFITS: $39.85 per hour. No benefits. (This is a grant funded, temporary, part time position.)
