Virtual Wine & Cheese Event - June 25th, 2020

Renowned sommelier Tim Kopec will teach us about three world-class French wines, sourced from his private collection--a sommelier's treasure trove!
Tim was the wine director of, and a partner in, Manhattan’s much-missed three-star restaurant Veritas, where he won the James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Wine Service. Now a founding partner of Private Cellar Selections, which sources wine for restaurants, corporations and private collections.
Enjoy a tasting package featuring 3 bottles from Tim’s private collection plus gourmet cheese and crackers selected by Second Mouse Cheese shop in Pleasantville to complement the wines during the Zoom event.
Cost of tasting package is $175--this includes $125 wine and cheese for two, plus a $50 donation to WCC (or follow along without the featured wines by registering for the Zoom link alone!) Tasting package to be dropped at your doorstep* (touchless delivery) the day prior to the event.

Pints & Pies Event - September 30th, 2020

Join us as owners of the Croton Tapsmith, Toni Senecal and Tracy Shea, take us on location to demo the magic behind their traveling wood-fired Neapolitan pizza oven. Nick Holtzman of DeCicco & Sons Armonk will then guide us through a virtual tour of their award-winning beer collection, showcasing some of his favorite locally sourced craft beers. We will “sit down together” at the inviting Armonk DeCicco & Sons Pub for delicious beer & pizza pairings.
Sip and snack along at home via Zoom with the tasting package: two Croton Tapsmith handcrafted flash-frozen pies (appetizer size), five local beers, and other goodies.
Tasting packages are $125 per person and will be dropped to your door (touchless delivery in Westchester County) the week of the event. Be sure to register by September 21st to receive your boxes in time.
Our students need your support more than ever. All funds raised at this event will benefit scholarships and our on-campus food pantry.
Voted "Best New Bar" 2020 by Westchester Magazine, the Croton Tapsmith has a rotating list of local craft brews on tap, a variety of crowlers and cans to go plus local cider and wine. The menu rotates seasonally with wood-fired pizza their year-round specialty. Toni (Toni On! New York) has been producing and starring in entertainment shows over the past decade. Tracy is a filmmaker and former CNN journalist.
DeCicco & Sons has been honored many times for its commitment to excellence in beer, including “Best Beer Selection” by Westchester Magazine in multiple Best of Westchester issues. Nick and his team constantly scout and select new brews; the store’s collection features more than 1,000 beers from the U.S. and abroad.

Melissa Clark Event - October 15th, 2020

Ready for the holidays? Let’s get it together…together!
New York Times food writer and columnist Melissa Clark will teach and inspire us as we all look toward the next topsy turvy event of 2020: the holiday season. Melissa is known for her simple, creative solutions to entertaining conundrums, and there is no doubt that she will offer easy and effective tips to make this year’s celebrations feel special. In fact, signing up will jump start your meal planning right away, since a copy of Melissa’s latest cookbook, Dinner in French, will be yours when you register!
In addition, we will all get an edge on Thanksgiving prep by hearing from Bernard Janssen, Chef and Culinary Program Manager at Zwilling, who will showcase basic knife skills, explain which knife to use for what, and teach us how to keep our knives in excellent shape.
We can’t imagine a better way to get fired up about holiday preparation than spending an hour or so with these two culinary masters. And best of all, your own family gatherings will be elevated knowing you have helped the talented students of Westchester Community College with direct support of both student scholarships and also our on-campus food pantry.
