If you failed one part of the course, you must take both parts again to improve your grade. Please note that for Chemistry classes, a student that fails the lecture portion and passes the lab portion can retake the course and only do the lecture portion within 1-2 semesters. Students in this situation have to go to the Office Assistant for Chemistry in order to request a waiver from lab. How do I find out what books I need for class? Go to the College Bookstore website: sunywcc.bncollege.com You can also view your classes on your MyWCC account and click on the ‘book information’ link next to each class to find out what books you’ll need. I see holds listed on my MyWCC account. What do I do? In order to see what particular hold is on your account, please check your MyWCC account. Click on the hold for a description of action required to remove the hold. Each hold will direct you to a particular office. What is the ‘Hold Degree’ hold on my account? The ‘Hold Degree’ service indicator is placed on a student’s account by the Bursar’s Office to prevent the release of a diploma or certificate due to an outstanding matter with either the Financial Aid Office or the Bursar’s Office. It automatically appears on a student’s account when he or she has one of the following three holds: Financial Aid Exit Interview not complete, Sent to Collections, or Bursar Hold. A process runs nightly to pick up any changes in the status of a student’s account, so when the student resolves the outstanding issue and the related hold is removed, the ‘Hold Degree’ hold will come off that night. What does it mean when it says I must contact the Counseling Office when trying to register? It means you have a hold on your account which must be cleared before you are allowed to register. All new degree-seeking students and at-risk students (less than 2.0 GPA) must meet with an academic counselor before registering. You can sign in to speak with an academic counselor remotely during regular business hours at: www.sunywcc.edu/getadvised or visit a counselor in person on the 2nd floor of the Student Center (or by appointment at the extension centers).
