Are CLEP and AP scores accepted at the College? CLEP scores are accepted for most subjects except English and Chemistry. CLEP score must be 50 or higher. AP scores are accepted for all subjects. AP score must be 3 or higher; some courses require a 4 or 5. Please review the CLEP and AP Exam Score Requirements on the website to know what CLEP/AP score is needed to receive credit for the equivalent WCC course: www.sunywcc.edu/clep or www.sunywcc.edu/ap Official scores must be sent directly to the Registrar’s Office from the CollegeBoard.org website to receive credit. What is WCC’s College Board (CEEB) code? WCC’s College Board code is 2972. This is code is occasionally requested by students or organizations sending SAT, ACT, or AP scores. Do you accept transfer credits from the Department of Corrections or the Police Academy? Transfer credits are accepted from the Westchester County Department of Corrections and the NYC Department of Corrections, but not other Departments of Corrections. Transfer credits are accepted from the Westchester County and New York City Police Academies, but not other Police Academies. Official transcripts should be sent to the Registrar’s Office. Do you accept transfer credits from the Military? Students who have taken courses through the Military should contact the College’s Veterans Resource Center at veterans@sunywcc.edu for information on transferring in Military credits. Contact the Registrar’s Office at Registrar@sunywcc.edu and within your email provide your name, student ID and questions. You will receive an email response. I’m a new transfer student. How do I know what classes to register for? As a transfer student who will be pursuing a degree/certificate at Westchester Community College, you must first submit any prior college credit as described above. After your transfer credit evaluation is complete, you can log on to Degree Works to see what remaining classes are required for your degree. All students must be advised because they can register for classes. After your transfer credit evaluation has been posted, you can sign in to speak with an academic counselor remotely during regular business hours at: www.sunywcc.edu/getadvised or you see an academic counselor in person. What is DegreeWorks? DegreeWorks is a degree audit tool that assists students in selecting courses to register for and tracking their progress toward degree completion. To access DegreeWorks, log on to your MyWCC account and click on the ‘DegreeWorks’ link. Your logon will be your College email address and your MyWCC password.
