IN-PERSON Mural-Making for Public Exhibition in 30 Hrs Utilizing a unifying theme inspired by the City of Peekskill’s history, multicultures, and natural environment, students enrolled in this 8-week workshop will collaboratively design, paint, and install large and small-scale murals for public exhibition at the Center for the Digital Arts. Led by NYC artist and cultural activist Alex Rojas, participants will increase their knowledge and understanding about creating meaningful visual art statements that elicit audience interaction. Students will also increase their art skills in 2D design and construction; color selection, mixing, and painting application; and installing art in public places. The murals produced will be displayed in the Center upon course conclusion and an artists’ opening reception will be scheduled for the community.
