Chef Fanelli’s Puglia a familia still produces olive oil at their family grove in Italy. Chef has worked at several of NYC’s most renowned Italian restaurants, from Felidia’s to Rao’s. Now at two Westchester locations, he brings elevated Italian fare to the suburbs. Featured on numerous television shows, including “Man Finds Food,” “Kitchen Casino,” and as the champion on FN’s “Chopped,” he demonstrates some of his special dishes utilizing ingredients from fall’s bountiful harvest. Begin with pear salad—baby arugula with fried Delicata squash, shaved red onion, with Pecorino cheese and learn chef ’s secret to truffle honey vinaigrette. A mini lesson on Arrancini that you can recreate at home—crispy risotto balls filled with shaved black truffle, wild mushrooms, mozzarella and Fontina cheese dipped in a Parmagiano fonduta. Watch how Chef makes ravioli zucca— homemade burrata filled pasta dressed in browned butter, sage and pumpkin crema topped with Amaretti cookie crumble. One of Food Network’s featured chefs, Samantha Benjamin, hosts a hands-on cake pop lesson in her dessert studio. Their pops are featured in all DeCicco & Sons locations, and all NYC Morton Williams locations. They are also sold in many other stores and can be ordered online. Tonight, she will share some secrets to making some Halloween themed cake pops with a variety of spooky decorations. You will be able to repeat these techniques at home. Sample some tasty treats and BYOB if you choose! Each attendee will go home with their creations. Chef Alfonzo will teach us all about TTP’s most favored tacos; Atlantic cod—grilled or battered, citrus, slaw, radish, with a jalapeno cilantro emulsion, and pork belly—pineapple glazed, radish and cilantro. Known for their delicious libations, we will be educated on some of their house made comfort food to warm your soul. Begin with a mixology lesson on a making a white Cosmo. Owner Charles Amchir will talk about his restaurant knowledge while teaching us what makes some of their favored dishes that complement our cocktail starting with a baked “mac n’ cheese” to die for. Delicious Italian cuisine from the brothers that brought you Pop’s Espresso and Fratelli’s Pizza, Peter and Giovanni Cucullo. One of only a handful of Westchester restaurants awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand award it remains a delicious destination. Many of the recipes are inspired by momma Maria and chef ’s childhood memories, and then heightened by his creative talents. Mama always said “eat your veggies”, so we learn to make eggplant two ways: Eggplant fries—lemon zest, black pepper, and Pecorino cheese, Strigoloni— roasted eggplant, smoked mozzarella, tomato, and fresh mint. Chef shares his method for making broccoli rabe just like his mama. Learn the technique of making risotto with other grains utilizing Italy’s favorite—farro to create a creamy mushroom farrotto topped with perfectly roasted Atlantic cod. Taste a mini version of his famous “dannolo” created at Pop’s Espresso. It is a delicious hybrid of the classic cannoli and doughnut filled with cream, chocolate chips and crowned by a tiny round of biscotti!
