IN-PERSON Jazz History Explore the evolution of jazz from its African, European, and American roots to its current position as a uniquely American art form. Styles we will study include early blues, ragtime, the swing era, bebop and many of the great soloists and singers associated with these styles. An emphasis will be placed on listening and discussions about a wide range of jazz recordings. Offered by Theodore Young Community Center, 32 Manhattan Ave., White Plains. This course is on Zoom. Requirements include submission of proof of age, along with payment of the fee. The cost to audit is a non-refundable $50 fee for each semester. Payable by credit card or check. You may register for a maximum of two classes each semester as a senior auditor. Senior audit registration for the Fall 2021 semester will take place by application. Applications will be accepted by e-mail Aug. 25 through Sept. 3.
