Part-time Students
Counseling and supportive services are provided by
Westchester Community College at no cost to women
returning to school or work. Job skills training and job-hunting techniques
are offered. Nationally accredited day care for children of
Westchester Community College students is
available, during day classes, at reasonable cost.
- Taking the First
Step
If you are an adult women thinking about college, the Office of Admissions
is available to assist you. The taking the First Step workshop was designed
for women like you as an introduction to the services, programs and
admissions procedures for women thinking about attending Westchester
Community College. In an informal setting, you will meet women like yourself
who are making the decision to attend college. You will be introduced to the
Women's Forum and other college programs and support services. Attend our
next free workshop; to reserve a seat or receive free information, call the
Office of Admissions at 914-606-6735.
- Women's Forum
The Women's Forum is a day program of support services designed to ease and enhance the experiences of adult women students who have resumed their education at Westchester Community College. Services include a "Welcoming Reception" for New Students, program planning, workshops, seminars, peer discussion groups. academic and personal counseling. College information and referrals to on and off campus resources are offered during daily "Drop-in" Office Hours or by telephone and e-mail. The College's Workplace Culture
Coaching corporate mentoring Program for female students is also coordinated through the Women's Forum. The office is located in Sci.118. 914-606-6901, women'sforum@sunywcc.edu.
- On-Campus Child Care
Westchester Community College's on-campus child care center is fully accredited and professionally
staffed. It accepts infants through 5-year olds. Eight bright, spacious
classrooms are filled with new, safe play equipment and have observation
rooms for parents and staff. Our Parent Communication Program gives daily
information about your child's activities. Hours for Child Care are from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday year round (except the
last week of December). Part-time care is available if you qualify. Call
