Student Travel Policies
Statement of Purpose
Westchester Community College is committed to providing challenging and expansive educational experiences for our students and employees. All off-campus student activities are important parts of those experiences. In order to ensure the safety and health of participants of those activities, the College has developed and adopted policies and procedures in that regard, by which all participants are required to abide. The College reserves the right to change those policies and procedures without notice.
Travel Policies
- All domestic and international travel must be approved prior to the commencement of the travel by the Associate Dean of Student Development and Support Services and the appropriate Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
- All travel must be accompanied by one or more designated college representatives unless an exception is granted in advance by the Associate Dean of Student Development and Support Services. Every college employee who accompanies students on an overnight trip is required to attend an orientation meeting, unless waived by the Associate Dean of Student Development and Support Services.
- All participants must complete and return the Liability Release Agreement to the trip supervisor before commencement of the travel.
- All trip supervisors are responsible for making sure that all participants are informed of and comply with the relevant sections of the Student Travel Policies for off-campus activities.
- All participants in any international travel must complete the International Travel Application Form.
- Failure to comply with the above policies may result in the denial of a request for travel, or in the event of legal action, may limit the College's ability to defend you.
