Immunization Requirements

Students born on or after January 1, 1957 who wish to register for more than 5 credits in any single semester are required to show proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps and Rubella diseases before registering. All students regardless of age, registering for more than 5 credits must comply with the New York State Immunization Meningococcal Law.

Immunization Requirements:

  • Measles Immunization
    • Two injections on or after January 1, 1968 (at least 30 days apart) administered on or after the student’s first birthday. Immunizations administered prior to January 1, 1968 are acceptable if there is proof that a live vaccine was used.
    •  Or provide the date of the physician-documented disease.
    •  Or provide a Positive Immune Titer.
  • Mumps Immunization
    • One injection on or after January 1, 1969 administered on or after the student’s first birthday.
    • Or provide the date of the physician-documented disease.
    • Or provide a Positive Immune Titer.
  • Rubella Immunization
    • One injection on or after January 1, 1969 administered on or after the student’s first birthday.
    •  Or provide a Positive Immune Titer. (Proof of disease not acceptable)
  • Meningitis
    1. Documentation of having received the Meningitis Vaccine (ACWY) within the past 5 years or dates of completion of receiving the Meningococcal B series.
    2. Or signature of student acknowledging having received information regarding meningococcal disease and the risks of not receiving the vaccination. Student (or parent/guardian of students under 18 years of age) is required for refusal of the vaccination.

Note: A Titer is a blood test that can be performed to verify the past administration of certain immunizations.

Proof of immunization must be submitted to the Student Health Office in the Student Center prior to working with a counselor and registering. If you have already submitted this information during a previous semester and were cleared by the College Nurse at that time, you do not have to submit your immunization record again.
