The Westchester Community College Athletic Department offers an excellent opportunity for Westchester students to enjoy their favorite sports and showcase their individual talents prior to moving on to four-year schools or joining the job market. Westchester Community College student athletes range from accomplished student athletes looking to move onto scholarship situations at four-year schools to students just learning a particular sport to students seeking technical certificates for immediate entry into the work force.
Black & Hispanic Male Initiative
Black & Hispanic Male Initiative is a program designed to address the challenges faced by Black and Hispanic male students. Through Counseling, peer mentorship, programming and events, this program provides opportunities to connect with the goals of attaining success and completion of their assigned degrees.
Benefits Access Center
Is a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping low-income families and individuals build economic security. Services include, but are not limited to: public benefits screening and application assistance, health insurance enrollment, tax return preparation, one-on-one financial counseling, and legal services covering a wide range of civil problems–including eviction prevention, immigration and custody battles. All service is provided free of cost.
Counseling and support services are available for students with learning and/or emotional, visual, hearing and other health related issues.
Emergency Aid Program
The WCC Foundation Emergency Aid Program was established to assist students who have unforeseen financial hardships that occur during the semester and endanger their continued enrollment. These hardships are generally financial situations that are immediate and severe in nature that cannot be remedied by Financial Aid, the Scholarship Office or the Benefits Access Center.
The Office of International and Immigrant Student Affairs is committed to providing services necessary to meet the special needs of F-1 international, English as a Second Language and immigrant students.
Licensed Clinical Social Workers are available to help students with personal problems. They are skilled listeners that can assist to identify issues and can help develop a plan to resolve said problems to ensure students’ success in their academic and personal life. Short-term on campus counseling is available as well as off-campus referrals when necessary.
The Department of Student Involvement is committed to providing comprehensive and meaningful educational experiences for students in the co-curriculum. Through the creation of intentional learning environments, the Department of Student Involvement helps students acquire leadership and other transferable skills that can be utilized throughout their academic and professional careers.
Veterans Resource Office
The Veterans Resource Office at Westchester Community College is committed to providing Veterans and Reserve component personnel, as well as active duty, family members, and dependents, the support they need through a variety of programs and services, intended to make a seamless transition into the college environment.
