Student Grievance Procedure and Incident Reports
The primary objectives of this Student Grievance Procedure are to ensure that students have the opportunity to present grievances or report incidents to the College regarding certain actions by members of the College Community including students, staff and faculty and that the College has a consistent way of resolving those objections or adjudicating those incidents in a fair and just manner. Throughout all phases of the Student Grievance Procedure, all reasonable efforts shall be made to maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable law.
Before invoking the Student Grievance Procedure, a reasonable effort should be made by the complainant to resolve the issue amicably by meeting and discussing the issue with the respondent. A dispute is most effectively handled and resolved by those closest to the problem, having the best understanding of the issues, and having the ability to formulate a mutually acceptable resolution. Only when such efforts are unsuccessful or inapplicable, based on the situation, should the Student Grievance Procedure be invoked.
Students having questions or concerns about an incident or suspected arbitrary treatment and are unsure what to do may seek informal assistance. By contacting the Associate Dean of Student Life, (914) 606-6777, a student can make an appointment to seek advisement on their situation or request mediation.

Sexual Harassment or Sexual Violence
To file a grievance involving sexual harassment or sexual violence, you should contact the Office of the Title IX Coordinator by calling 914-606-6777. For more information, please click HERE
Complaints Regarding Grades
Grievances regarding assigned grades should not be filed through the Student Grievance Procedure. Students must contact their instructor if they wish to appeal their final grade. For more information, students should review the grade appeal policy in the Student Handbook.
Formal Complaints or Report an Incident
Student can file a grievance or report an incident by clicking the link below and filling out the electronic incident report. Students may also fill out an incident report in person by going to the Dean of Student Life’s Office in the Student Center, Room 203. Once the incident report is filed, it will be sent to the appropriate college official for resolution.
