Student Veterans Club
New and returning students are encouraged to join the Student Veterans Club. As part of the Student Veteran Association, we belong to a nationwide network of student veterans groups on college campuses across the globe. Through this network we can provide a peer-to-peer network for veterans who are attending Westchester Community College, or transfer to another member college. Additionally, the veteran’s club has campus and off-campus activities, is a good way to learn about campus and community resources, and provides student-veterans with information on veterans related issues. For more information contact email@example.com.
VA Work-Study Program
Westchester Community College is an approved site for the VA Student Work-Study Allowance Program. You are eligible if you’re training in a college degree, vocational, or professional program at least three-quarters time. You can receive a work-study allowance (in addition to your education benefits) based on the number of hours of work you perform. Applications are available in the Veterans Resource Office, and must be accompanied with a VA Form 22-8691. For more information visit the GItm Bill Website: http://www.gibill.va.gov/ or call 1-888-GI-BILL-1.
Online Learning at Your Convenience
The Professional Development Center offers a variety of online courses that can offer options to the individual or employee of a business, large or small, who needs training but whose schedule doesn’t include time for going to a class. Opportunities range from short-term classes to longer programs that prepare you for industry-recognized certifications.
Extension Centers are local public facilities and buildings where Westchester Community College offers coursework in your community. Many of the same college credit courses that are held on the main campus are offered at these centers.
Why should I take classes at an Extension Center?
- The classes offered at these facilities may meet closer to your home or
place of work.
- It could reduce your travel time.
- Extension classes begin one week after the main campus classes begin so you have some additional flexibility.
