The 2015 Men’s Soccer campaign was a successful one filled with both team and individual accolades.  The team finished the season with a 12-5-1 overall record and captured the Mid-Hudson Athletic Conference title for the first time since 1999 with a 4-0 mark in conference play.  The Vikings’ 8-3 regional record earned them the #4 seed in the Region XV Tournament.  A 2-0 triumph over BMCC, who was ranked among the top teams in the country earlier on during the season, propelled WCC into the Regional Semi-Final.  A tough loss to the eventual Champions, Nassau CC, ended their outstanding year.  Individually Fr. Luis Lua represented WCC on the All-Region 1st team while fellow freshmen Joel Arevalo and Freddy Pereira made the 2nd team.  Defender Alan Lopez was voted as an Honorable Mention.

Things began in the early 1970s when current golf coach John Yasinsac established the program. Yasinsac, who is a member of the Junior College soccer Hall of Fame, coached until his retirement from soccer in 1985.In 1996, in Coach Fred Brown’s final year, the Vikings won the Mid Hudson Conference Championship and finished first in Region XV, before losing in the Region XV Tournament. The Vikings are members of the Mid-Hudson Conference and compete in Division III of the NJCAA. The goal each season is to earn a bid to the Region XV Tournament. A Region XV Tournament Championship puts the team in the NJCAA Division III National Championships. The Vikings start their path to the Nationals in September. They play a 14 game schedule over a two month period against Region XV opponents and several non-Region Schools.
