Things began in the early 1970s when current golf coach John Yasinsac established the program. Yasinsac, who is a member of the Junior College soccer Hall of Fame, coached until his retirement from soccer in 1985.In 1996, in Coach Fred Brown’s final year, the Vikings won the Mid Hudson Conference Championship and finished first in Region XV, before losing in the Region XV Tournament. The Vikings are members of the Mid-Hudson Conference and compete in Division III of the NJCAA. The goal each season is to earn a bid to the Region XV Tournament. A Region XV Tournament Championship puts the team in the NJCAA Division III National Championships.

The Vikings start their path to the Nationals in September. They play a 14 game schedule over a two month period against Region XV opponents and several non Region Schools.

Viking players have gone on to earn All Conference, All Region and All American honors. Thanks to the exposure of a competitive schedule numerous players have gone on to compete at four-year colleges.
