Extension Center FAQs

What are Extension Centers?

Explore Extension Locations

In addition to the main campus, the college invites students to explore higher education possibilities at its other sites located throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties.  Through these locations, students may take courses toward completing degrees or earning certificates. Students are offered the same high quality educational opportunities, student services and activities offered at the main campus.  You will also find many outstanding non-credit professional and personal continuing education and ESL programs and certificates offered at these convenient locations. We are all fortunate to have many different ways to connect to higher education opportunities at Westchester Community College

Why should I take classes at an Extension Center?

  • The classes offered at these facilities may meet closer to your home or
    place of work.
  • It could reduce your travel time.
  • Extension classes begin one week after the main campus classes begin so you have some additional flexibility.

When should I take the placement exam?
It is recommended that you take it as soon as possible.

Can I take the placement exam at the Extension Centers?
