Kids Summer Camp

Westchester Community College Center for the Arts offers summer art classes for children and teens. The program offers a broad range of classes in the visual arts and photography for students from 6-15 years of age. We provide a friendly and creative environment, highly experienced teachers, and fully equipped art studios. Give your child a wonderful and memorable experience in the arts!

Art Portfolio Class for Teens

Ages 16 – 18

Designed for students 16 and over, this class is an intensive studio experience in drawing. A variety of media will be explored. Projects are devised to build skills in drawing as well as express individuality and creativity. This is an excellent course for the serious art student or the student who needs to prepare a portfolio for college. Offered for 2 college credits.

Two Sessions:
Session 1: June 30 – July 17
Mon., Tues., Wed., from 9:15am – 12:25pm
Session 2: July 21- July 31
Mon., Tues., Wed., and Thurs., from 9:15am – 12:45pm
Cost: $472.75 per session (tuition + fees)

Debate Summer Camp

This intensive summer debate camp will enable your child to develop confidence, self-esteem, critical thinking skills, creativity, and leadership. Your child will learn to structure arguments, prepare debate cases, research evidence, write rebuttal briefs, deliver speeches, and refute opponents. There will be a variety of age and experience appropriate topics to debate during the camp. Past debate topics have included: school uniforms (elementary school), pre-emptive strike policy (middle school), and the legal drinking age (high school).

This is a collaboration between Agape Consulting Group and Westchester Community College Center for the Arts

Lego Camp

Engineering Fundamentals

Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects such as arch bridges, skyscrapers, motorized cars, and the Battletrack! Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. An experienced instructor will challenge new and returning students to engineer at the next level.

July 7 – July 10

Ninjaneering using LEGO
Enter the world of Ninjago and become an apprentice Ninjaneer! Learn the way of Spinjitzu, build the Fire Temple, race Skull Trucks, and encounter the mighty Dragon! Imagine and build unique and fun projects with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor while exploring the fantasy world of Ninjago.

August 4 – August 7
Monday – Thursday
9:30am – 12:30pm, Ages 5 – 7
1:00pm – 4:00pm, Ages 8 – 11*

Fee: $175. + $8.25 reg. fee

Art Lab

General Art Camp. Come join us to create a variety of art projects. Explorations may include drawing, painting, sculpture, print-making and more. Students will be introduced to and work with a variety of quality materials and will experiment with different styles, inspired by artists and art movements. This interactive program blends fun with fine art.

August 4 – 7
