Portfolio Preparation and Presentation

Designed for students 16 and over, this class is an intensive studio experience in drawing. A variety of media will be explored. Projects are devised to build skills in drawing as well as express individuality and creativity. This is an excellent course for the serious art student or the student who needs to prepare a portfolio for college.

Public Speaking and Debate

Students will learn the fundamentals of public speaking and argumentation skills that will enable them to develop confidence, self-esteem, critical thinking skill, creativity, and leadership.

10 Mondays, February 23 – May 7
4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

5th and 6th grades or 7th and 8th grades

$600 + $8.25 registration fee.

Saturday Academy for Gifted Young Scholars
February 7 – April 11 (10 weeks)
for middle school students 5th – 8th grades

The Saturday Academy for Young Scholars, a pre-college program is designed for middle school students to gain additional  experience and practice in English, Math and Creative skills. the program’s philosophy of learning by doing motivates young people to experience the joy of discovery and active learning in public speaking, debate, math, English, and creativity. Classes will be hands-on, project-oriented and will offer individualized learning experiences. They will be taught by experienced educators, debate coaches, engineers, authors and artists. The program is organized around three learning modules:  Debate and Literature, Math and World Problems, and Creativity and Innovation.

Fee:  $895 + $8.25 reg. fee
