At Westchester Community College Center for the Arts, we consider our faculty to be our greatest and most precious asset. More than fifty professional artists teach at our facility.
Most of these highly experienced practitioners hold a Master of Fine Arts or another terminal degree granted in their field. They have been recognized in their areas of expertise through solid exhibition records, awards, and published works. Their work has been exhibited in solo art exhibitions in galleries and museums nationally and internationally, and they have been the recipients of major grants and artist residencies from acclaimed institutions including the MacDowell Colony, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, the New York Foundation for the Arts, The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, among others.
Our talented faculty members also teach at such renowned institutions as New York University, School of Visual Arts, Pratt, International Center of Photography, and Fashion Institute of Technology.
Our success is entirely tied to these outstanding teaching artists and the expertise they share with unbridled energy and enthusiasm. They become the learning partners of students enrolled in degree programs at Westchester Community College as well as people of all ages from the Westchester community and beyond. Our adult students often build strong relationships with faculty members who become creative mentors and sources of inspiration in their quest for personal development. These students return again and again.
Students new to the Center will discover faculty who bring real-world knowledge to their classrooms, who are engaged and connected to their teaching, and who are accessible and supportive. Our faculty welcome students of all ages, backgrounds, and learning goals to their classes with the same dedicated support.
