VIRGIL 3.0: Online Research Tutorial
Finding Books, Step 1: Basic Keyword Search page
STEP 1: For a Basic Keyword Search, type in one set of the search terms you have developed.
Note that Field to Search is set to All Fields, but you can narrow the search to one field by clicking on the drop-down menu and chosing a specific field.
In this example, we typed the truncated search terms censor* film* for a broad search on censorship of films. (If you need to review Truncation techniques, go back to Module 1 for a description.)
If you are searching for a phrase, and want the words to appear next to each other, choose Yes at Words Adjacent?
For example, for a search on the film Citizen Kane you want both words together, in that order, so choose yes
Click on the Go button to begin the search, or Clear to redo your settings.
