Westchester Art Workshop Receives Award

Westchester Art Workshop has received the prestigious 2007 Sophia Abeles Award for Community Arts from the Westchester Arts Council.  The Arts Award, Westchester Arts Council’s most prestigious award, has been presented for 30 years, to recognize individuals and organizations whose vision, commitment, and leadership enrich Westchester, its communities, and its citizens.

On Wednesday April 11th, Abre Chen, Director of Westchester Art Workshop, accepted the award on behalf of Westchester Community College and Westchester Art Workshop. Dr. Hankin, President of the College, other members of the college, County Executive Andy Spano, other county dignitaries along with more than 500 people, were in attendance at the arts award luncheon and award presentation.
