Frequently Asked Questions

I am a new teacher at The Peekskill Extension Center Computer Labs. What do I need to do to prepare myself teaching here? 

1. Call the Tech Office at 606-7304 or 606-7382 and request a tour of the labs.
2. Fill out a network request form and hand it in to the Tech Office. This will provide you with three special folders on our in house Faculty Network Server: a private storage folder, a student pick up folder for assignment assets and other files you need to share out to your students, and a Drop Box Folder that allows students to hand in work to you. (this is locked down so that students can only drop work in the folder but have no additional access.)
3. Take time to familiarize yourself with this folder set once we have given you the instructions for logging on to our local network server.
4. Make sure to familiarize yourself with our in house library and any equipment relevant to your course specialization that is available for checkout for use in your class.
5. After the first day of class you and your students can pick up a lab schedule from the Tech Office.
6. Take advantage of our Gallery and Lecture Series along with your students.
